The City of Toronto, StreetARToronto (StART) initiative is embarking on its 7th year! StART is a proactive program that aims to support, and increase awareness of street art throughout the city. StART's mission is to see Toronto as a 'living work of art' by creating partnerships (between the City, residents, businesses, and the creative community), reducing graffiti vandalism, encouraging civic discussion about public art, using art to foster place making, and providing grants, materials, and mentorship opportunities.

StART will be holding the following 4 information sessions highlighting what to expect for this year's programs (updated guidelines, deadlines, etc.) RSVP requested but not required:

Scarborough Nov 1 - Lunch, Art Tour and StART Info Session 12 Noon to 2:30pm Cedar Ridge Creative Centre, 225 Confederation Dr, Scarborough Accessible

North York Nov 2 - in partnership with Arts in the Parks grant program (lunch included) Art in the Park grants info- 10am-12:30pm StreetARToronto 1pm-2pm North York Arts at the Toronto Centre for the Arts, 5040 Yonge Street, Toronto Accessible

Etobicoke Nov 7 - Art Tour under Old Mill Bridge and Info Session 2pm to 5pm Walking tour of artworks by Phillip Cote, Nelly, Jarus and Kwest (talk by Phillip Cote) – 2pm-4pm Info Session – 4pm-5pm Meet at Old Mill Inn, 21 Old Mill Road, Etobicoke Partially Accessible, volunteer on site to assist

Downtown Nov 16 - StART Info Session and Gallery Exhibit Save the date! info Session and Networking Event - details to come Northern Contemporary, 1266 Queen St W, Toronto, ON

If you are an artist or non-profit arts or community organization interested in creating street art projects in the city, this is the time to learn more! Help spread the word and get involved in StART's exciting 2018 opportunities!
