Join us on Friday, July 12th, as we wander the downtown streets with 'The Star' columnist and flaneur Shawn Micallef and explore Bauhaus ideas in Toronto´s urbanscape.
2019 marks the centennial of Bauhaus, a German art school that was famous for its approach to design and acrhitecture. Founded in Weimar in 1919, relocated to Dessau in 1925 and closed in Berlin under pressure from the Nazis in 1933, the seminal design school only existed for 14 years. All the same, Bauhaus remains to be an influencing style and “brand” that continues to have a lasting effect on international architecture, design, and thought until the present day.
