The World of Orcas Tour
In this tour, we will dive into stories about the Orcas in our waters, immerse ourselves into the space where we coexist, and... ideally, get to see them ourselves.
Frequently asked questions
Every ticket includes all of the following: Welcome package, Aquabus Charter, the Private Zodiac tour. Lunch on the island is not included in this cost.
A reusable water bottle, Sunscreen, Sunglasses, A camera with a fully charged battery and lots of memory storage, Binoculars,
My thesis for this tour is to bring you further into The World of Orcas than simply seeing them. You will dive into the history of our relationship with Orcas as humans, and be provided the tools to engage in their world beyond a tour. Because it's more, it's a door to ongoing adventure.
There are 12 tickets available for this tour, and myself as your host. On the Aquabus there will be a Captain, and on the Wild Whales charter there will be a Captain and a Naturalist.
Wild Whales has a 95% success rate of seeing a whale on their tours, and, ideally, with a zodiac and a tour dedicated to seeing Orcas specifically, we have the best chance of any tour in Vancouver. That said, they are wild animals, and there is always a chance we don't see them on this trip.
Getting on and off the Zodiac is the greatest effort any guest would require. It includes stepping over the side of the vessel to enter. This tour is also not recommended for pregnant individuals or those with chronic back/neck pain or previous spinal injury.
Children are permitted, however I would request that they be at least 7 years old and have an active interest in the tour themselves. Disclaimer: We will be going over some mature topics like the captivity industry, and animal deaths.
Wild Whales reserves the right to cancel the charter for impending weather/rough seas etc. If this happens, I will attempt to re-schedule as soon as possible, and you will receive notification from me immediately where you will have the choice to get a full refund, or book the following tour.
I do not expect nor anticipate any gratuity for this tour for myself as my costs are included into the price. I would like, however, to encourage gratuity for the crew for each of the vessels we will be attending (Aquabus, and Wild Whales), you will be able to do this with cash or card at both.
It has been relatively cool here in Vancouver, up to 20°C or 70°F, so I would recommend light layers, and breathable clothing. You will have to wear an insulated suit for the zodiac tour, but you only are required to wear it to your waist.
