FamilyLife Marriage Mentor Online Training - 28 September 2025

Marriage Mentoring is about one experienced couple walking with another couple to help them succeed in their relationship. It's pretty simple. In the early years, couples can be taken unaware of the issues they face and can feel alone in their struggles. Through a series of focused conversations, marriage mentoring normalises those struggles and gives couples help and hope. The result is revitalised relationships, both for the couples mentoring and those being mentored.

TRAINING: Mentor couples receive fantastic online video training. Both the time (three and a half hours) and costs are minimal. We recommend mentor couples have been married for at least 7 years. The added benefit we've observed, is the marriages of the mentor couples are also strengthened.

TIMELINE: Both couples commit to meeting one night a month over a year. Each topic supports a healthy marriage with a conversation guide and a take-home project.

The cost of training is free, however, $75 is required to cover the cost of Conversation Guides for mentor and mentee couples, including postage.

Terms and conditions: The FamilyLife Marriage Mentoring Training is a pre-requisite to taking any couple through the FamilyLife Marriage Mentoring material, and this training is an essential guide on how to use our materials effectively. The Marriage Mentoring Training does not qualify you to take couples through any form of counselling and we recommend that couples seek out professional help for challenges that stretch beyond the scope of the marriage mentoring discussions. You are free to use the Marriage Mentoring resources but must refrain from presenting yourself as an official FamilyLife representative. Marriage Mentoring is a pro-active approach to intentionally strengthening marriage. This is a community initiative and is not meant to be a substitute for seeking out professional help for your marriage where needed.
