The theme for National Social Work Month in 2025 is: Social Work is Everywhere. Let's kick off the Nova Scotia celebrations!

Join staff and council members of the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers (NSCSW) for the kick-off of National Social Work Month (NSWM) 2025. This year, the Canadian Association of Social Workers (CASW) has selected the theme of Social Work is Everywhere to highlight the vast and diverse ways that social workers contribute to their communities across Canada.This virtual event will be an opportunity for our members to hear from NSCSW leadership, learn more about CASW and NSCSW activities and initiatives for NSWM, and connect with their peers in every part of our province.From schools to hospitals, community centres to policy-making, social workers are at the heart of social progress, championing equity, justice, and human dignity. Join us as we celebrate the many faces and facets of social work in Nova Scotia! <h3>Speakers</h3><ul><li>Alec Stratford, Executive Director, NSCSW</li><li>Tyler Colbourne, Professional Development Consultant, NSCSW</li></ul> <h3>Eligibility</h3>This event is only for members of the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers (NSCSW). All active, associate, retired associate, and student members are welcome to attend; our professional development programming is part of our member services funded by annual registration fees. There are no other prerequisites for this session. <h3>Professional development tracking</h3>For members of NSCSW, participating in this one-hour session can be tracked as an informal professional development activity.Visit nscsw.org/pd for more information about the updated professional development requirements for Nova Scotia social workers.
