The John R. Rhodes Scholarship was established in 1979 thanks to generous contributions from friends and family of the late John R. Rhodes. This is the most prestigious scholarship offered at Algoma University and is awarded to a high school graduate who embodies the integrity, leadership, and commitment to community service demonstrated by Rhodes throughout his life as a broadcaster, community member, and politician.
As part of this scholarship, Algoma University proudly hosts the annual John R. Rhodes Scholarship Dinner and Art Auction, taking place this year on October 24, 2024, at the Machine Shop. New this year, the Algoma University Visual Arts department will showcase local talent and raise funds for their students with a unique Art Auction. Tickets for the event are now available and can be purchased here.
