About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours

RECEPTION WILL FOLLOW AT AUGUSTINE COLLEGE (in the same building) IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE LECTURE

Barry W. Bussey, CEO, First Freedoms Foundation (Canada) and Augustine College, Ottawa, are co-hosting this event.

Please join us in the presentation of this lecture by Dr. Julie Ponesse who has a PhD in Ethics and Ancient Philosophy from Western University, a Masters in Philosophy with Collaborative Specialization in Bioethics from the University of Toronto, and a Diploma in Ethics from the Kennedy Institute of Ethics at Georgetown University. She is a 2023 Brownstone Institute Fellow, and has authored two books, My Choice (2021) and Our Last Innocent Moment (2024).

In the fall of 2021, these credentials were put to the test when she challenged her university’s Covid mandate. In true “when one door closes” fashion, she was launched into a new world where she has been able to reach more people than she ever did in the classroom. Dr. Ponesse is the noise in the study, the outlier, the one who cares more about being able to sleep at night than fitting in.
