Featuring, this year

Navigating the courts: what every journalist needs to know

Navigating the courts can be complex and daunting for many journalists, especially when few working journalists today have access to a lawyer on retainer. From speaking in court and communicating with Crown counsel and defense lawyers to tackling publication bans and requesting access to documents, our esteemed panel of speakers will offer practical advice and tips while walking participants through a fictional scenario of covering a major murder trial.

Join this interactive, free Masterclass, live online or in-person and hear from our panel:

· Daniel Coles, Media Lawyer, Owen Bird Law Corporation

· Rhianna Schmunk, Senior Writer, CBC News

· Scott Dawson, Media Lawyer, Dennis James Aitken LLP

· Rumina Daya, Senior Reporter, Global News
