About this event

The NSMTC 2nd Annual Indigenous-Led Energy Symposium will bring together leaders from First Nation communities, utilities, government and industry for two days of conversation and collaboration on ”The 3 Horizons of Opportunities” as it relates to energy sector initiatives: opportunities that exist today, opportunities that are on the near-future horizon, and future opportunities. On the journey to a net-zero carbon economy in 2050 and a more sustainable outlook for future generations, these “3 Horizons” loosely correlate to the 2030, 2035 and 2050 decarbonization milestones. This year’s Symposium will unpack and explore each of these Horizons, highlight disruptive technologies that are poised to contribute to the net-zero pathway, and create an environment for 2-way dialogue on the unique opportunities for Indigenous involvement.
