Join me for a hands-on, creativity-packed 3-day art intensive, perfect for beginners and art lovers alike! We’ll explore concept building, sketching, and drawing, then dive into acrylic painting techniques to bring your unique masterpieces to life. Each day is filled with fun, from group activities to immersive workshops, all in a relaxed and inspiring studio setting.

Guided by Expressive Figurative artist Karen Klucowicz, this experience is designed to feed your creative soul and spark new artistic adventures. Held in my studio at The Cotton Factory, a dynamic hub for artists, you’ll also enjoy an exclusive Factory tour—meet fellow creatives, soak in the inspiration, and explore current exhibitions.

LOCATION: There are many entrances to this complex so make sure your gps is directed to the Dyeworks Studio at 9 Landsdowne Avenue, Hamilton at street level. Plenty of street parking and a lot at the back of the Factory [free].

Frequently asked questions

Is the space accessible?

Yes. Street level entrance and ramp on interior.

Is there a fridge and are there washrooms in studio?

Yes. Unisex washrooms and a kitchenette - fridge, microwave, kettle will all be accessible to you.

Is most of the time devoted to working on our art?

Yes! the additional activities like gallery tours, meeting other artists are within the complex of the Cotton Factory and will not take a lot of time out of our days - the time is intended to be spent on your personal creativity.

Will I be keeping the materials you supply?

Yes except for my easels which you will have access to for the workshops.

What if I want to bring my own supplies?

This will require a conversation so that I'm sure you have all required for the whole intensive. Reach out via email to determine if you have all you need and if you do we will adjust the fee accordingly.

What paint are we going to use?

All materials supplied will be artist grade - there will be several drawing media supplied and the paints will be acrylic.

What if you get too many people or too few?

I am fully committed to this intensive - whether we have 1 or 5 it's a go! If we sell out to 5 participants I will start a waiting list or you can attend the creative retreat or additional art intensive that will be held over the summer months.
