Mi’kmaw Elders and service providers join us for dialogue on ways to remove silos in care. What are some concrete steps that we can take to advocate for whole-person care that is rooted in community and that addresses intergenerational trauma, systemic bias and ensure better care for all people? This panel will encourage all health care professionals to begin to reflect upon what we can do to decolonize ourselves and our practice.


Collaborative care series

This interdisciplinary series offers professional development and networking opportunities to support allied health professionals in co-creating better outcomes for the people and communities we serve. We are striving to raise awareness of the importance of collaborative care, and build community amongst diverse health care practitioners.

Sessions will alternate between interdisciplinary panel discussions and self-care virtual lunches in which participants will be encouraged to learn from one another and connect with each other in new and transformative ways

Eligibility

There are no prerequisites for this session. You'll need a device that can use Zoom, and a reasonably reliable internet connection.

There are two ticket classes:

NSCSW members

All allied practitioners in Nova Scotia/Mi'kma'ki interested in advocating for collaborative care are eligible to sign up for a free partner ticket; just let us know which profession you're part of when you register.

Partners

Allied professionals enrolled in any of our partners' member organizations are eligible to sign up for a free partner ticket; just let us know which one you're part of when you register.


Professional development tracking

For members of NSCSW, participating in this event is eligible to be tracked as formal professional development as defined by NSCSW's guidelines for annual professional development. Members can use the registration confirmation email or PDF ticket as a verification document.
