The African Caribbean Canadian Association of Northern Ontario(ACCANO) is pleased to invite you to our 2025 Annual Black History Celebration Event!
ACCANO was formed in 2011 as a non-profit, non-political, and non-denominational volunteer-led group. Our vision is to foster and leave a legacy of our cultural heritage by contributing to the economic, social and civic development of Canadian society through active and equitable integration of our members. Our annual event is held in honour of Black History Month and is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements and contributions of Black Canadians as well as share the history and culture of Black members who make up our diverse community. ACCANO strives to create opportunities for fostering meaningful and intentional relationships throughout communities in Northern Ontario in hopes of creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all.
Our 2025 theme is Celebrating our Collective Strength. This theme highlights the importance of acknowledging and celebrating Black excellence. Together, we celebrate our collective strength by uplifting our communities and shaping a future where Black excellence thrives.
