BIO:
Dr. Barbara Kinnaird serves as CEO of Response Biomedical Corporation. Through Dr. Kinnaird’s leadership, Response Biomedical has expanded from Cardiac Point of Care testing into a global Acute Care Diagnostics leader, with the central focus on improving patient outcome and saving lives.
Since joining Response Biomedical Corp. in August 2004, Dr. Kinnaird has held several key management positions including responsibilities for Product Development, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing and Sales. Dr. Kinnaird led Response Biomedical through several financings to support the development and commercialization of transformative technologies that impact patients globally.
Dr. Kinnaird’s priorities are on building elite teams that specialize in managing organizational changes intended to improve and accelerate overall business performance. Under her direction, the company obtained regulatory approvals to support sales in several global jurisdictions such as Europe, China, Japan, United States and Canada.
As Chairperson of the Board of ACETECH, Dr. Kinnaird demonstrates a passion for growing local businesses and helping CEOs develop and build a leadership culture across their teams. In addition, her extensive experience in exporting medical devices globally has earned her a position as an Advisor-Life Sciences Sector to Global Affairs Canada.
Dr. Kinnaird holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of British Columbia.
