This Volunteer training will cover all necessary skills to participate in a key component of The Sault Community BR+E, volunteer conducted interviews. We aspire to interview as many businesses as possible which will require lots of volunteers who will be welcome to participate in as many interviews as they would like. Volunteers will also be invited to share their insights and attend the public meetings contributing to improvements to the downtown.

The business retention and expansion (BR+E) program sponsored by The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA) was introduced in 1998 and since then more than 300 BR+E projects have surveyed over 11,000 businesses across Ontario.

The overall purpose of BR+E is to assist our existing business community. To do this, we have asked community members, like you, to visit businesses with a survey to gather information about their needs, concerns, and opinions of the town and area as a place to do business. This information provides a means to assist our existing businesses. In turn, this will help to improve our local business climate and economic development efforts.
