Frequently asked questions

What is Alphabet Soup: A Memoir in Letters?

Alphabet Soup is comprised of twenty-six letters, one missive addressed to each letter of the alphabet, exploring themes that recall and reframe love, death, joy, sorrow, victory, devastation, and more. It is Greg Frankson's first full-length work of creative nonfiction.

What is A Different Booklist?

A Different Booklist is a Canadian, independent, multicultural bookstore specializing in books from the African Caribbean Diaspora and the Global South. It is owned by bestselling children's author Itah Sadu and her husband Miguel San Vincente.

Is it really Greg's 50th birthday on January 28?

Yes, it is. Dundurn Press scheduling the release of his book on his 50th birthday was a complete coincidence. Greg originally hoped for a holiday on a beach someplace. Instead, he will be with other bibliophiles in one of Toronto's finest independent bookstores. Sometimes, life requires a pivot.

What is the cost for attendees?

Everyone who attends will leave with at least one copy of the book, which retails for $22.99. If you come with your family, then a minimum of one copy per family applies. If you want to come but your financial situation doesn't permit you to afford a book, please reach out. We still want you there!
