About the Fair

The goal is to bring newcomers, employers, service providers, education institutions, municipal and provincial government together in a meaningful manner while still providing lots of information. Those without transportation get the chance to learn about all the support and services available for them, and to see more of the Valley.

EMPLOYMENT

Immigration-ready employers who want to hire people under a closed work permit, or those who can newcomers become Permanent Residents will be highlighted.

IMMIGRATION

Come and learn about what you need to do to immigrate to Nova Scotia from overseas! Or how to transition from being a work permit holder to a permanent resident.

EDUCATION

Thinking of going back to school? An array of education institutions will be there to showcase what they have to offer!

SETTLEMENT & COMMUNITY

Get to know who are here to help you settle in the Valley and their programs, whether it is to help you find a job, housing, family services, children's programming, etc. You will also get the chance to meet and learn about each municipality to find your next community!

STARTING YOUR BUSINESS IN THE VALLEY

Those with entrepreneurial spirit will be able to connect to financial services, and other supports in the Valley that can help you start your business!


What to expect:

  • Info booths made up of employers, education institutions, service provider, municipal and provincial governments
  • Presentations on immigration programs, funding, labour standards, municipal governments, settlement services, and about the Valley
  • Bus coming in from Halifax, West Hants, Cornwallis Park, and Middleton (REGISTRATION REQUIRED)
  • Resume clinic
  • 1-on-1 meeting rooms for interviews
  • Mini tour of the Valley

Details on the bus:

Bus will depart from Halifax, with a stop in Windsor.

Another bus will depart from Cornwallis Park, with a stop in Middleton

We will send you the details on pick-up time and place. Please register here via EventBrite if you plan on taking the bus with us.

Registration is only required if you are coming in with our bus. For folks who have transportation and able to come to the fair, please feel free to just show up! We will be happy to host and showcase the Valley to you!
