Featuring:

Semi Athletic

Semi Athletic's (Mark Falk's) specialty comes in the form of impressionistic songwriting paired with tasteful production and guitar riffs, otherwise known as "the tone zone". As a Canadian who grew up in Prague that calls Alabama a third home, his output is a synthesis of time spent digging through record crates around the world and working in Muscle Shoals recording studios while interning for Single Lock Records.

When Mark isn't playing his own shows you can find him in the studio wearing the producer hat (Dawson Gool, Talel McBriar, Hayden Crawford, M. E. Netsky), on stage playing guitar (Talel McBriar, Zach Kleisinger, Cassidy Waring, Oleefia), or climbing BC's stunning mountains.

The new album “Try Hard” (May 2023) was self-recorded and produced at Sun Drop Sound/Single Lock Records. With a refined artistic voice and vision, the album features introspective acoustic songs with twinkling keyboards next to full-out rock songs with playful, tongue-in-cheek lyrics.

"Smoke Alarms (Trampoline Dunk Contests)" began as a short-film concept set in a mountain town called Hope and a voice memo that said, "I want to play drums in the kitchen again." Made in collaboration with Matthew Koropatwa and Antonia Ramirez, the music video features disarming moments of intimacy alongside a group of kids with a comforting level of mischievousness.

The debut album "Fridays I Wear Silk” was recorded at the historic Muscle Shoals Sound Studio B and features cornerstones of the Shoals music community: John Paul White, members of Belle Adair, and Speckled Bird.

Live performance highlights: A three week tour in BC and AB in support of “Try Hard”, opening for John Paul White at The Wise Hall, an invitation to open for Penny and Sparrow which was canceled due to Covid-19 (Toronto), and a TV appearance on Music Room (Televize Seznam).

Kardias Quing

A contributing soul to Vancouver music culture for nearly a decade, Filipino/Canadian artist Kardias Quing offers a message of love and sovereignty to their community. Through collaborations with fellow Vancouver producers, they have cultivated and continue to create a repertoire that uplifts, and empowers. Influenced by Indie, R&B and Alternative Pop, their creative efforts cut through the woes of modern distraction, and bring us all back to our infinite possibility.

Neighbourly

Vancouver Island’s Neighbourly blends the freedom of psychedelia with layers of pop and funk influences. They emerged in 2022 with three eclectic tracks: "Wake Up", "Whoopsies", and “Follow Us”, each track showcases the group’s diverse influences in their songwriting and their production processes.
Neighbourly’s self-titled debut album, released in October 2023 with Earth Libraries, emphasises each member’s strengths as songwriters. Each of them contributed two tracks, resulting in a total of eight songs. Approaching the album, the group aimed to fully explore the concept of being neighbourly, allowing each member to produce their own tracks and guide the sound of their songs. This debut project highlights the eclectic influences within the group as it transcends through psych-funk grooves, calypso beach vibes, and dreamy shoegaze.

In March 2024 Neighbourly released a harder-hitting EP described by some as having a post-punk vibe. Recorded in just two days at Catalogue Studios in Victoria, BC, Outside 311 hints at a theme exploring the experience of growing up in a small town. In under 11 minutes the songs punch and cascade with angst as Sandberg, in his native British accent, bellows about fashionistas, signing cheques, and the voice inside your head.

Following up the group takes an eastern turn with their summer release titled Alla Discoteca. These five songs were produced simultaneously from their previous project, and were approached differently which the group enjoyed by experimenting. Inspired by disco from around the world and Lauren’s relearning of Italian, Neighbourly are bringing a Mediterranean groove to the Pacific.

daysormay

Three six-graders ignored all the trappings of typical teenage life and dedicated themselves fully to making music. Growing up in the small town of Vernon, BC, Canada, Aidan Andrews, Carson Bassett, and Nolan Bassett started out playing in cover bands before shifting to writing their own material. Now 24 years old, in Vancouver, with a full album and EP under their belt, the members of daysormay have no intention of slowing down.

The group has connected with 3-time Grammy and Juno award winning producer Chin Injeti (Dr. Dre, Drake, Eminem, Aloe Blacc, Anderson. Paak) and T-Minus (Lil Wayne, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd) for their next full-length album, MODERATION, set to release in 2024.

MODERATION will be released to the world on The Orchard distributed label, TAG Music. The record will be supported through daysormay's dedicated online following and powerful live show, which has already graced stages at Reeperbahn Festival in Germany, The Great Escape in England, and Bumbershoot in Seattle, to name a few.

Kid Filthy

If alien means belonging elsewhere, perhaps Kid Filthy is someone who belongs everywhere. The shy rockstar finds himself at home in the eclectic and the contradictory, effortlessly pairing petaled shirts and glasses, suturing vulnerable lyrics to heavy, sinister instrumentals. Born in Congo,DRC in 1997 Filthy was painted by a mosaic of influences from a young age, from Kanye West to Speaker Knockerz to Joey Bada$$ and Kurt Cobain. Kid Filthy is here to stay and the impact he is about to leave will be just shy of a meteoric crater.
