Join us for a weekend of learning and healing! Explore this growing modality of helping others become more mobile and embodied. Deepen your relationship to your own body and movement while learning a skill to help others.

About Stretch Therapy

Stretch Therapy works with the fascial system to create more range of motion, reduce tension and stiffness, improve circulation, improve movement patterns and accelerate athletic performance. Using passive, active and dynamic stretching techniques this work is customizable for all bodies.

Stretch Therapy is gentle yet deep, and will leave you feeling longer, lighter and more spacious.Stretch Therapy works with the nervous system, helping you to relax and drop into a parasympathetic state which promotes healing at a cellular level.

Stretch Therapy is a powerful stand-alone modality of healing and also enhances other healing or manual therapy practices.

Our method of stretch therapy involves work on the table, on the floor and self-stretching.

Who is this workshop for?

Personal trainers, pilates/yoga instructors, breathwork facilitators, dance teachers and movement coaches of all kinds will benefit from a deeper understanding of safe, effective assisted stretching techniques. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of mobility and movement, both in their own bodies and in others.

Physiotherapists, Massage therapists and other manual therapists will find this course material a valuable addition to their toolbox.

As a fundamental workshop, this course is not a complete certification to become a stretch therapist. If you are new to bodywork, this course will give you a repetoire of skills to practice with friends/family and can be a stepping-stone into the world of stretch therapy. If you are already a trained practitioner, this workshop will give you new tools to enhance your existing practice.

This course is the pre-requisite for Level 2 Practitioner Training, which will prepare you for working professionally as a Stretch Therapist.

Concepts explored:

Hands-on assisted stretching of the major joints and fascial lines (you will learn a complete routine!)

Passive and active/dynamic stretching

Stretching on a table and on the floor

Workshop Timing and Style

The workshop is 10am - 6pm Saturday and Sunday. We will have a good lunch break and a couple short snack breaks during the day. We tend to have a "no plan plan", where we go with the flow and listen to the groups needs, while following our curriculum and making sure everybody is learning as much as possible. It is essential that participants are able to attend the entire workshop, to optimize the quality and safety of the learning experience.

Our style of teaching is very hands-on. There will be some lectures and discussions throughout the weekend, but the majority of learning is through doing . You will get to experience giving and receiving Stretch Therapy all weekend.
