Athina Malli Presents: "From Smyrna with Love"

"From Smyrna with Love" is a musical tribute to a legendary community, our lost Homeland, long gone but never forgotten.

The tribute is for the older generations to recall their memories and for the younger generations to learn and acknowledge their traditions, cultural heritage and history. Listeners will hear the influence that Turkish, Armenian and Jewish populations had in our musical culture and vice versa. We will present to you a showcase of “Smyrneika songs”, some traditional from specific areas of Asia Minor and some that were born in the Anatolian tavern, the so called Cafe Aman.
