Become a certified Bat Ambassador in the North Okanagan:

Join us at the Allan Brooks Nature Centre for an exciting in-person training session organized by the BC Community Bat Program - Okanagan Region. This workshop will train you on bat species in BC, their diversity and ecology, how to protect bats and engage in citizen science for bat conservation. We welcome students, nature enthusiasts, educators, professionals and anyone curious about bats.

The workshop is offered to residents of Enderby, Lumby, Grindrod, Mara, Armstrong, Cherryville, Vernon and others living in the North Okanagan region of BC.

Bat Ambassadors receive training on:


  • Outreach and education
  • Community Science (e.g., bat counts, monitoring and surveys of bat roosts)
  • Bat-friendly Communities
  • Bat habitat stewardship and restoration
  • Best Practices on bat boxes and more!
