Join us for an engaging and hands-on Beginner Crochet Workshop at Ed's Mercantile! This three-part series is designed to take you from a novice to a confident crocheter, with the guidance of our experienced instructor, Rebecca.
Workshop Breakdown:
Class 1: Working in Rows (Washcloth)
Date: Thursday, January 9th
Time: 5:30 - 7:00 PM
Learn how to make a slip knot, chain, single crochet and double crochet as we make a basic square together. This class will be a soft introduction to how to start and end a project and by the end of class, you should be confident enough to finish the project at home within the week.
Class 2: Working in Rounds
Date: Thursday, January 16th
Time: 5:30 - 7:00 PM
Master the technique of working in a round as we crochet a winter toque. You won't be able to finish the hat in class, but you can take the materials home with you to finish on your own time.
Class 3: Granny Square
Date: Thursday, January 23rd
Time: 5:30 - 7:00 PM
Learn how to make a granny square and turn it into a coaster, or create more squares after class and turn it into something else. In this class we will learn how to make a magic ring and you will be able to look through the granny square book to get inspirtion for more advanced granny square projects you can learn later.
Materials:
Yarn and hooks will be provided for use during the workshop, if you want to bring your own materials you can. We will be using size 4-5mm hooks.
