Celebrate Black History Month and explore the healing power of art and movement therapy in building resilience and strength. Together, we’ll reflect on our journeys, celebrate our stories, and embrace creativity in a safe and welcoming space.
Art from the Heart is about creating spaces for healing, connection, and joy. Local artist Alana Decker will lead us in designing postcards that reflect our personal stories. These postcards will be displayed at Langs Community Health Centre, showcasing the creativity and strength of our community. Alana is a passionate artist who uses her work to foster healing and empowerment, making this hands-on session both meaningful and inspiring. No artistic experience is needed just bring your creativity and an open mind.
Nicole Brown Faulknor registered Psychotherapist and Yoga instructor https://www.wounds2wings.com; https://www.teaocanada.com will be leading our movement therapy class with a focus on destigmatization (shame & trauma) of the body through movement. A movement therapy class and gentle stretch for those needing some time to rest and play - in an unhurried and loving space to offer their bodies the space it deserves to explore healing itself, through this self-healing process.
Enjoy a free lunch and connect with others as we honor Black history, celebrate creativity, and build community.
