Join us in celebrating the official book launch of Transformative Visions: Studio Portraits of Black Women In Leadership!

Developed from our 2023 exhibition and now a permanent collection in the Library and Archives of Canada, these studio portraits capture the powerful presence and influence of Black women in leadership roles across various fields. This publication features portraits of 50 women created by four Toronto-based visual artists—Janice Reid, Leyla Jeyte, Jon Blak, and Patricia Ellah as well as essays and reflections from Sarah Edo, Belinda Uwase, Courtnay McFarlane and more.

We are glad to be hosted by the City of Toronto Archives for the launch, the location of the first exhibition showing of this collection.

There will be light snacks and refershments at this event.

Attendees at the launch will be able to acquire this publication at a special price to commemorate the book launch!
