    The Brightspace Symposium is presented by the groups who led the transition to a new Learning Management System:

    • Information Technology Services (ITS)
    • Learning and Teaching Services (LTS)
    • The Centre for Continuing and Online Learning (CCOL)
    • D2L

    With presentations, workshops, and networking, attendees will collaborate and share knowledge that will improve the experience for all users. By sharing insights and best practices, the Brightspace Symposium will help spark the shared passion for learning that connects us all as we build towards a brighter future.

    Featured speaker- Shaun Iles

    Shaun Iles has been a Professor and Educational Technology Facilitator for the School of Liberal Studies at Mohawk College for 10 years. Through his experience delivering content at the college level Shaun gained international attention for his use of gamification in the classroom winning two international awards for online education in 2014-15 as well as being the key note speaker at ed-tech conferences around the world. Shaun and a team of developers and artists founded Flyte Studios Inc. in 2015.

    Flyte Studios has gained attention as a Hamilton based ed-tech start-up, partnering with D2L, Canvas and Microsoft. He has a passion for education technology, helping students vetting new business ideas, and helping new start-ups find their market and research their competitors.


    D2L Product Design Team

    Members from the D2L Product Design Team will be on site to hear from you! They will be demonstrating development research at the D2L eLab where attendees can register by appointment throughout the day.
