A typical meeting consists of 2 prepared speeches by members. These speeches are based on projects in the Toastmasters Pathways Education system. They are typically 5-7 minutes each and are of a topic of the speaker's choosing.
After speeches, each speech is evaluated by a different evaluator to give people tips on what they did well and what they can do to improve and become even better.
After the evaluations there is the "Table Topics" portion of the meeting which is impromptu speaking practice. A Table Topics Master will create questions which members take on and answer in a 1–2-minute speech without preparation. This is great practice for speaking off-the-cuff. Often guests are asked to participate in Table Topics but they don’t have to participate if they don’t want to.
After Table Topics, people performing roles during the meeting like timekeeper and grammarian give their reports and because everything in Toastmasters is evaluated to help members improve their communication skills. The general evaluator evaluates how the meeting was run and any roles that had yet to be evaluated.
1:05 Meeting Closes on-time.
