Join me for an evening of slow strokes and soulful creativity at Crown & Press Gallery!

Whether you’ve never touched a pointed pen or you’ve dabbled with doodles in the margins, this beginner-friendly workshop is the perfect way to unwind, reconnect with yourself, and explore the beauty of calligraphy—one mindful stroke at a time.

We’ll gather in the cozy, inspiring space of Crown & Press on Ottawa Street for a 2 hour guided experience designed to spark creativity and soothe your nervous system. It’s more than just learning letters—it’s a calming ritual, a playful pause, and a beautiful way to return to yourself.

💫 What You’ll Learn:

  • How to use a pointed pen and ink (don’t worry—I'll guide you every step of the way!)
  • Foundational strokes that create the building blocks of modern calligraphy
  • How to form lowercase and uppercase letters with grace
  • Putting it all together: create your own quote or mantra to take home and display proudly

What time does the venue open?

Crown & Press is open to the public as a gallery café. I’ll be setting up around 5:45 PM, and you’re welcome to settle into the workshop area at 6:15 PM. The workshop begins promptly at 6:30 PM, so arrive early to grab a drink and get cozy!

Is there parking available?

There’s free street parking on Ottawa Street and nearby side streets. You can also park at the Walmart Plaza at Barton & Ottawa—just a short walk away. Arrive a few minutes early to grab a spot and soak in the cozy vibes!

☕ Will there be food or drinks?

Crown & Press is also a lovely café, so you’re welcome to grab a coffee, tea, or treat before we begin! Feel free to bring a water bottle or light snack if you’d like.

Do I need to bring anything?

Nope! All supplies are included, and you’ll even leave with your own calligraphy starter kit. Just bring yourself and an open heart.

I’ve never done calligraphy before—can I still join?

Yes! This workshop is designed with beginners in mind. No experience is needed—just a willingness to learn and have fun.

Will there be photos taken during the workshop?

I may take a few snaps to share the cozy vibes on social media. If you'd prefer not to be photographed, just let me know when you arrive—your comfort is a top priority.
