Make your way to the dock to board the 2:15 PM ferry and relax on the 15-minute ride back to the city.

About this event

Join us at our fully wheelchair-accessible facility, “The Parsonage,” this summer for Camp Sunshine! Look forward to:

  • A peaceful 15-minute ferry ride
  • Lively themed weeks
  • Delicious BBQ lunches
  • Stunning golf cart tours and nature walks

A day at Camp Sunshine costs $8.00 per person and includes a full day of programming and refreshments! Fees will be collected by staff on the day of your visit via cash or cheque. Program subsidies are available upon request if needed.

Groups are encouraged to bring their own lunch. Sandwich lunches are available, as well as BBQ lunches on BBQ weeks, for $9.00/person.

On Event Days, admission costs $15 per person (includes admission & BBQ lunch). Event days are as follows:

  • Rainbow Prode Festival: Saturday, June 8, 2024, 11am to 2:30pm
  • Environmental Action Day: Tuesday, June 25, 2024, 11am to 2:30pm
  • Indigenous Heritage Day: Friday, June 21, 2024, 11am to 2:30pm
  • Strawberry Festival: Thursday, July 11, 2024, 11am to 2:30pm
  • 50s Sock Hop: Friday, August 23, 2024, 11am to 2:30pm
  • Mosaic's Harvest Festival: Monday, September 23, 2024, 11am to 2:30pm

Please note, there is a $50.00 deposit required for group bookings. Please arrange to send or drop off the deposit at 1033 Pape Ave, Suite 8, at least 5 business days before your visit. Group organizers are also asked to complete the attached Group Registration Form at time of registration.

Ferry tickets (round trip) are not included in the participant fees. They can be purchased at the ferry terminal or online. Online purchasing before your visit is strongly recommended.

Please be advised that all participants, volunteers and visitors require at least 2 COVID-19 vaccines.

When the seniors, staff, and volunteers converge on Ward’s Island, a Sunshine energy abounds. Brightness shows up on seniors’ faces—a genuine inner glow, free of age or everyday concerns. This day program provides social, recreational and health promotion activities for both frail and active seniors, as well as people with disabilities. Activities include: gentle fitness, sing-a-longs, shared lunch, nature walks, golf cart rides around the Island, shuffleboard, arts and crafts, gardening, games, and theme weeks that explore engaging topics and celebrate cultures across the world.
