CBC Toronto’s annual food bank fundraiser, Make the Season Kind (formerly Sounds of the Season), is back! The name is new, but you can still expect the same incredible day of free programming while supporting the Daily Bread Food Bank.
You’re invited to come down to Glenn Gould Studio in downtown Toronto for a live broadcast of Metro Morning. Celebrate the season with Toronto’s #1 morning show and spend time with CBC personalities David Common, Jill Dempsey and Scott Regehr. Enjoy performances from some of Canada’s most talented musicians including William Prince, Zenesoul, Peter Dreams and Katie Tupper. Plus, early birds can enjoy complimentary Tim Hortons coffee, hot chocolate and other delicious treats.
Seating is first come, first seated. Doors at the Glenn Gould Studio open at 4 a.m. ET and seating begins at 5 a.m.
Admission is free, but if you can, please make a donation to the food bank. Daily Bread Food Bank will be on-site accepting non-perishable food items, cash and electronic donations. You can also give online at cbc.ca/kindtoronto.
Tickets are also now available to reserve for the free broadcasts of Laugh Out Loud, Bookends and Here and Now taking place at the Glenn Gould Studio on Dec. 6 (while quantities last).
About Make the Season Kind:
Food banks across this city are facing an unprecedented demand. Over the last year, food bank visits served a record-breaking 3.49 million client visits — almost one million visits more than the previous year. Donations to Make the Season Kind provide emergency food support to those experiencing hunger this winter.
Last year, with your generous support, CBC Toronto raised over one million dollars in support of GTA food banks. Since 2015, CBC has helped to raise over $51 million for food banks and other charities from coast to coast to coast as part of our annual holiday drives.
Help us make the season kind. For more information, including how to give in your community, go to cbc.ca/kindtoronto or call 1-866-416-KIND (5463).
