The City of Lethbridge is working with Buy Social Canada to develop a Benefits-Driven Procurement (BDP) Strategy. Benefits-driven procurement is a means to build community capital by leveraging intentional benefits from City purchasing through Indigenous, social, local, and diverse procurement. Benefits-driven procurement will contribute to the City of Lethbridge’s vibrancy and well-being, ensuring that all individuals, families and communities have opportunities to participate in local economic development.
Join this engagement session to contribute your local knowledge to the Benefits-Driven Procurement Strategy development and design. We look to the local business community, Indigenous community, social enterprises, non-profits and community members to shape the strategy to best meet the community’s goals and unique opportunities.
This is the first of two engagement phases:
- Phase 1 will provide an opportunity for participants to learn about benefits-driven procurement, provide feedback on the proposed social value objectives and priorities for the strategy, and help identify opportunities and challenges for social value in procurement.
- Phase 2 will involve a review and feedback of the draft Benefits-Driven Procurement Policy and Framework.
