What makes a joke? In this class, we'll sharpen our cross-genre comedy writing skills by exploring not only the form and content of humour composition, but also the philosophy, history, and psychology behind what makes us laugh. This course offers an overview of the craft of comedy writing, from the relationship between premise and punchline all the way to the comic dynamics of stand-up, sketch, theatre, radio, screen, and more. By helping you understand what makes comedy work, you'll develop skills adaptable to writing for audiences of all ages, across any number of media.

Refunds & Cancellations – Registration is non-refundable within two weeks of a class' start date. Refunds for class fees are available prior to the two week cut off, however Eventbrite fees will not be refunded.
