About this event

This second Connecting To The Land event is a chance to remind ourselves about the ideas of Nature and Community Connection, Embodied Cognition, and Flow that underpin the LSWS workshops; to reflect on our learning; and to plan for our continuing craft practices

New participants who would like to learn more about the project, hear from those who attended workshops and also share their own craft/skills stories are also welcome

For those who have already undertaken one of our many workshops, its an opportunity to check in with your progress and with others from this new UW Land Skills Community. How was the workshop for you? Have you continued to use the skills you learned? Did your workshop have any lasting impact or changes for you.

In the first part of the session we will talk about the initiative and what's been happening so far.

In the second part we will practice nature connection exercises to get you in touch with your senses and the world around you.

After each of these there will be chance to do some guided self reflection.

We hope you will join us!

This is an in-person meeting which, weather permitting, will be held at our usual meet spot outdoors on-campus.

In the event of poor weather, an alternative indoor space will be confirmed.

The event is only open to UW Students ,Staff, and Faculty

Your hosts:

Professor Steffanie Scott (GEM)

Jim Jones (PhD Candidate, SERS)
