About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

A 2024 survey of Lanark County Grade 10 students by Planet Youth Lanark County (PYLC) shows that their physical and mental health, not enough sleep, feelings of insecurity, and early substance use are real concerns.

On Monday, March 31 at 7:00 PM, a public Meeting (in person & Zoom) explores how we can build resilience in our youth. This evening event includes youth-led conversations from ACHIEVE (PYLC’s youth led advisory committee) and critical survey findings from the Planet Youth Lanark County Survey.

Dr. Michael Ungar (Canada Research Chair in Child, Family and Community Resilience and Family Therapist and Director, Resilience Research Centre) will provide practical thoughts on how we can work together to promote resilience in Lanark County youth.

Dr. Ungar will also be conducting resilience focussed workshops the afternoon of March 31 and morning of Apr 1. More information on these workshops is available www.planetyouthlanark.ca

Over the coming weeks and months, Planet Youth Lanark County, in collaboration with Lanark County Youth Centres, will engage the community in understanding the survey results and developing upstream prevention action plans.

More detailed information is available at available www.planetyouthlanark.ca.

Working together we can make a difference!
