Join local photographer Jillian Logee on this fun and creative Parks of Calgary photowalk collab! Jillian will take you through Dale Hodges Park and teach you all about composition, finding interesting angles, and how to unleash your creative side through photography.
We'll spend two hours honing our photographic eye through the ins and outs of Dale Hodges Park, a landscape that features a wonderful blend of wild nature and urban convenience. From the paved pathway, we'll branch off to check out some winding trails, complete with views of the beautiful Bow River on one side and dense vegetation on the other. This park is an excellent space for nature photographs with a landscape that changes dramatically through the seasons.
All cameras (including phones) and experience levels are welcome!
What you'll need to bring:
- Good footwear, as there will be a lot of walking and some trail exploring
- Your camera: film, digital, smartphone - your choice!
- Appropriate dress for the weather: sunscreen, windbreakers, rain gear - be sure to check that forecast!
- Water

- How to add depth and dimension to your images using the world around you
- Finding interesting perspectives
- How to use light to your best advantage
- Using props for fun and to develop your own style
