  • Day 2 (Oct. 6): Get clear on the story you want to tell. Learn the Three-Act Story Structure that keeps readers hooked and explore the deep connection between storytelling and personal growth. You’ll begin shaping the main character and writing the opening pages of your story.
  • Day 3 (Oct. 20): Dive into your story's critical moment: the Turning Point. Write your character’s inciting incident that leads them into their biggest conflict, mirroring personal challenges you’re ready to face.
  • Day 4 (Oct. 27): Master the art of "Show, Don’t Tell." by showing readers the action, emotions, and deeper meaning. You’ll create a Midpoint Transformation, a pivotal moment that raises the stakes and drives your story into Act III.
  • Day 5 (Nov. 3): Discover how to craft transformational scenes and dynamic dialogue. With expert guidance, you’ll write a scene that turns negativity into positivity, offering insights into your character’s – and your own – transformation.
  • Day 6 (Nov. 10). : Explore Act III and brainstorm powerful endings. Write the final resolution where your character’s journey reaches its emotional and thematic conclusion. By the end of this session, you’ll complete the first draft of your story.
  • Day 7 (Nov. 17): It’s time to refine! Read your entire story from start to finish, receive valuable feedback, and dive into the editing process. Learn professional editing techniques to polish your work and collaborate with your peers to take your story to the next level.
  • Day 8 (Nov. 24): Celebrate your writing journey by sharing your experience with the group. About your Instructor: Sheila Arellano.

Storytelling has been my companion in life—I published my debut novel at nineteen and have written three books since. This has allowed me to understand all stages of the creative writing process. I know writers’ struggles—feelings of doubt, overwhelm, frustration—and I also know how crucial it is to have support while writing. With eight years of experience and a Creative Writing Degree, I can offer that essential guidance. I want to help you achieve your highest potential and show you exactly how to write your dream story.
