Banoffee Cake
A modern take on a classic featuring caramelised bananas , toffee chantilly , coffee caramel and a hazelnut financier.
Financiers are baked in shaped molds, usually small rectangular loaves. The name "financier" is said to derive from the traditional rectangular mold, which resembles a bar of gold. Another theory says that the cake became popular in the financial district of Paris surrounding the Paris stock exchange.
Fraisier Cake
The Fraisier cake was invented in France, possibly in 1860, and the name is derived from the French word 'Fraise' for strawberries.
It consists of an airy vanilla creme diplomat, fresh strawberries, strawberry coulis and a genoise sponge.
Students will be assembling the cakes from pre-baked sponges, using the creams and confits demonstrated in class.
An appetizer plate with cheeses, crackers, spreads and fruits will be served for your enjoyement during the class.

Want to save the Eventbrite fee? You can register in person and over the phone directly with the store (604) 939-6200. Payment is required when you register - visa, MasterCard, gift certificates are accepted over the phone, cash and debit in person.
We have a 72 hours cancelation policy. If you need to cancel but have not given 72 hours notice, no refund, transfer to another class or credit will be issued, but you can send somebody in your place.
In the event that not enough participants are registered, we would have to cancel the class. We will notify registered participants at least 48 hrs prior and issue a full refund.
Please inquire prior to booking if there are any diet or allergy concern. No accommodations can be arranged for this event, but you are welcome to participate and learn something new!
