Description:
Guelph Historical Society presents a public lecture by P. Brian Skerrett, guest-curator of the exhibition Darkness and Light: Inside the Ontario Reformatory, on view at Guelph Civic Museum until April 30.
For over 100 years, the Ontario Reformatory/Guelph Correctional Centre was embedded in the lives of the people of Guelph. The exhibition shares stories from within the institution, addressing misconceptions, propaganda, and myths – some perpetuated by the institution itself and recounted in public archives.
P. Brian Skerrett will expand on selected stories from the exhibition and share other stories of the Reformatory that are unique to his presentation.
