This two-part workshop (Part 1 on January 12, and Part 2 on January 19) facilitated by the National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM), provides participants with a foundational understanding of Anti-Muslim hate; its origins, manifestations and its deep connections to racism and xenophobia within Canadian society.
During these sessions, participants will be able to recognize overt and subtle forms of discrimination and will learn how to effectively challenge Anti-Muslim hate both at the individual and institutional/ systemic level.
In this 2 part series, you will be able to:
• Explore the historical context on the origins of Islamophobia
• Define and identify manifestations of Islamophobia/anti-Muslim hate
• Develop strategies, tools and frameworks to promote equity and counter Anti-Muslim hate at different levels
