These are Decorative Pieces. They are finished and taken home the same day.
Painting ready-made pottery is a fun and creative way to personalize your art pieces.
1. Choose Your Pottery
Select a pre-made pottery piece such as a mug, plate, bowl, or vase. These can be found at our studio. Make sure the piece is clean and free of any dust or oils before starting.
2.Plan Your Design
Sketch your design on paper or directly onto the pottery with a light pencil. Think about patterns, colors, and placement. You can go for abstract patterns, floral designs, or even simple geometric shapes. Painter's tape can help create sharp lines and geometric patterns.
3. Start Painting
Base Layer: Begin by painting the larger areas or base colors. Use a larger brush for broad strokes.
Details: Once the base layer dries, add smaller designs, like accents or intricate patterns, with a finer brush.
Layering: Some designs might require multiple layers of paint for a more vibrant look. Allow each layer to dry before adding the next.
4. Add Texture or Details
Use sponges or other tools to create texture.
Stencils are great for precise shapes like flowers or stripes.
5. Allow to Dry
Let your pottery piece dry completely between layers to avoid smudging the design.
6. Apply Gloss (optional)
Once your painting is complete and dry, you can apply a clear glossy finish to protect the design.
