Whether you’re a beginner digital artist looking to dive into the world of digital painting or just looking to improve your skills, this workshop will give you the tools and resources you need to excel in your digital portrait painting journey.
Skill level: Beginner to Intermediate
Supplies needed: Tablet with a drawing application (Adobe Fresco is free, Procreate is also acceptable, or whatever works for you!)
Workshops are recommended for people ages 12 and over. Children under 12 years old are welcome with parent/guardian supervision. Please get a ticket for each person (incl. all children).
The workshop is pay what you can! Suggested $20 - $30 to support facilitator fees and supplies.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR:
Chidera Uzoka is a digital painter and independent artist from Calgary running her own art business, Dera Art Studio, where she sells prints and collaborates with clients. Chidera brings a painterly quality to their digital artwork, drawing inspiration from traditional mediums like oil painting. She has worked with a range of clients, including Dallas music artist Jordan May and UK-based Duane Caleb. Chidera’s diverse projects highlight their versatility and passion for visual storytelling. Chidera aims to inspire others to create and grow in their digital art skills.

Alcove Centre for the Arts (alcoveartscentre.ca) is a non-profit organization based in Calgary, AB which aims to make art more accessible and promote a vibrant local arts industry. We curate and cultivate community art spaces for Calgarians to engage in art and creativity while building a platform for emerging local artists.
