In March 2022, Disco Fairies emerged as a vibrant collective of young, passionate individuals, each bringing their unique background but bonded by a shared love for dance music. Driven by an innate yearning for self-expression and an unquenchable thirst for exploration, we embarked on a transformative journey to create something extraordinary.

Answering an inner calling, we set out to forge meaningful connections and cultivate enchanting spaces infused with both magic and safety, guided by an unwavering commitment to positivity. Within the diverse fabric of the Disco Fairies family, we discovered our sanctuary—a place where we not only ignite exhilarating parties but also weave intricate art and fashion captivating clothing.

Here, there's an endless array of experiences for all to revel in and savor. Yet, amidst the pulsating rhythms and kaleidoscopic visuals, our core mission remains resolute: to emanate positivity and shine as a beacon of inspiration within our culture. Join us in spreading joy and effecting change—one dance step at a time.

This event is being held on the stolen, ancestral territories of the Musqueam, Skxwú7mesh-ulh, and Tsleil-Waututh nations. As we live and organize queer space as settlers on these lands, we have an obligation to continuously work to repair harms perpetrated upon Indigenous communities, presently and historically. Settler colonialism has brought (and continues to bring) untold violence to these lands, via unlawful resource extraction, racism in medical and foster care systems, and the intergenerational trauma of residential schools.

BUDDY SYSTEM:

The Buddy System is a grassroots effort to combat rape culture and enhance the safety of our queer events. CONSENT IS SEXY -- AND MANDATORY! Buddies will be wearing **NEON T-SHIRTS**. Our Buddies are NARCAN trained, and are carrying sealed water bottles, condoms, lube, granola bars, tampons, and more. They will run interference if someone is receiving unwanted attention, can help folks in need find a way home, and generally serve as go-to support people should any problems arise.
