Are you feeling overwhelmed and depleted? Do the daily tasks of life weigh on you? Do you need a break? If those questions resonate with you, we invite you to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of daily life to join us for a day of recharging in the beautiful mountains of Canmore. 

Join Rachel and Sandra for a beautiful day retreat in Canmore, AB. We will connect with nature and ourselves through movement, breath work, meditation, yoga Nidra and art therapy. This beautiful day is meant to refuel you for the coming months and reconnect you with yourself.

Sandra is a certified 500 hour YTT and a Daring to Rest Yoga Nidra facilitator. She is a mom and passionate about healing and always continuing her grow her knowledge with different trainings. Rachel is a 500 hour E-RYT, 200 YACEP, Buti Yoga Master Trainer. Rachel is an Ayurvedic coach, Certified Canadian Counsellor, art therapist and advanced Yoga Nidra practitioner.

We will meet in Canmore at Canmore Counselling at 10:00am. We will begin with some breath work and a gentle yoga class to connect with the earth and ourselves. After the yoga, we will do a guided meditation. We will have lunch (a healthy and hearty vegetarian lunch) before finishing the day with more breath work, yoga Nidra and an art therapy exercise.

Please bring your yoga mat, water bottle, pillow, layers of clothing, slippers or warm socks, a blanket, an eye mask is optional, and money incase you want to visit some of the local shops while you’re in Canmore.

I have always been passionate about movement. Growing up I was a competitive dancer and track and field athlete. When I was 18 I had my second failed knee surgery ending my dance and track and field career. To say I was devastated would be an understatement. It was suggested to me that I try yoga as a part of my physical rehabilitation. From the first moment my feet hit the mat, I fell in love. The movement, the breathwork, the stillness, it was all exactly what I needed. Yoga brought me home to more than just my body, it reconnected me with my soul. I knew in my soul I needed to share what I felt in that moment with as many people as possible, and so I began my yoga education and have yet to stop.

I am a 500 hour YACEP, 200 hour E-RYT, Buti Yoga Master Trainer. I am certified in Yoga Nidra, individual yoga nidra, trauma informed yoga psychology, barre, Ayurveda, DEEP, Hot Core, Sculpt, Buti Bands, and pre and post natal yoga. I am a Merge Level II Practitioner, a training that specializes in the fascia and functional movement, and I have been teaching movement in Calgary for 11 years. I have my Masters in counselling psychology and art therapy and I will often integrate my learnings from psychology in my yoga classes. I am passionate about yoga and ensuring that everyone finds the yoga practice that aligns with their body and their specific needs.
