    Join us this summer, Tuesdays and Fridays at 10:00 AM at the Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre for hands-on exploration of our oceans! Explore state-of-the-art facilities, meet passionate scientists, and get up close and personal with local marine animals in our labs. Don't miss this opportunity to learn about marine life and conservation in a fun and interactive way! All ages are welcome.


    As a non-profit organization, a suggested donation of $20 per adult is encouraged. Donations can be made upon arrival with cash or card, as well online. If paying online, please include a donation message that you are participating in our public programming.


    All proceeds from this public programming supports marine science research and education initiatives here at the BMSC.

    Where do we meet for the start of the tour?

    Please meet us in the Main Building foyer near the display aquaria. Look for the sign indicating 'Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre'.

    How can I make my donation?

    Cash or card payment is available upon arrival. You can also donate online! https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/39834 **Please include in your donation message that you are participating in our public programming.

    Is there anything specific I should bring or wear?

    Please come prepared for any weather conditions, as tours will proceed rain or shine! Additionally, closed-toed shoes are required in the lab.

    Is there parking avaliable?

    Yes! We have free visitor parking available on campus.

    Are there any items available for purchase on campus?

    Yes, our souvenir store will be open for purchases following your tour!

    Can I "drop-in" to a tour?

    Please note that drop-ins are not available. Kindly register online at least 1 hour before the tour starts.

    Is it possible to arrange a private tour for my group on an alternative date?

    Regrettably, we are unable to accommodate private custom tours and labs this summer due to capacity constraints.

    Do you have public boat moorage?

    No. Participants can use our loading zone for up to 15 minutes. Note PFDs are a requirement on all BMSC docks.
