Join us this Human Rights Day as The Inclusion Project hosts a virtual gathering aimed at combating hate, fostering inclusion, and building bridges of understanding among diverse communities. This event is a call to action for equity, respect, and shared humanity in the face of rising hate crimes and community tensions across Canada.
Hate crimes in Canada have surged, particularly targeting Muslim, Jewish, and Black communities, with police-reported incidents climbing 7% between 2021 and 2022, following a staggering 72% increase between 2019 and 2021 (Public Safety Canada). This event offers a platform for critical conversations, collective action, and shared learning to dismantle hate and strengthen community bonds.
Event Highlights includes: Keynote Address from thought leaders in social justice and human rights; Panel Discussions featuring voices of lived experience and advocacy against hate and racism; Documentary Screening on real-life stories of hate, resilience, and community healing in Canada; Interactive Activities and Community Showcases, celebrating diverse cultural, religious, and ethnic identities.
We welcome: Members of the public, particularly those from racialized communities and people of African descent. Community leaders, educators, youth, and social justice advocates. Representatives from government agencies, schools, universities, businesses, and non-profits. Anyone committed to advancing equity, inclusion, and human rights.
Join the conversation online with #DismantlingHate to share insights, experiences, and stories, amplifying the collective voice against hate and discrimination.
