Through discussion, practicle activities and experiments we will explore:

  • How creatures survive (blubber experiments)
  • The ocean floor & the Mariana Trench
  • Warm vents and underwater volcanoes
  • Design - what could be possible

End Date: Thursday 27th February 2025

Frequently asked questions

Does my child need to have experience in Science, STEM or Critical Thinking?

Not at all. The program is designed to follow the interests, ideas and ability of each student.

Where will we drop off and pick up?

We will meet in the main foyer 5 minutes before class and again at the end of each session.

Why are some programs 1 hour and others are 2 hours long?

Each workshop is based around our Critical Thinking Skills Cycle and all include practical activities. Longer workshops focus on building and more precise experimentation while 1 hour workshops focus on activities to test out ideas.

What if there is a storm and we can't make it?

We will follow the advice of the Peel School Board. Should schools be closed we will close the workshop and add a makeup class to the end of our sessions in March.

What experience do the instructors have with this program?

I have been a teacher for over 20 years specializing in Science for 6-12 year-olds. Drop Thought Kids has run in the UK, Shanghai and has now returned home to Canada.

If we are unable to attend can we get a refund?

We all know that kids have their own opinions and ideas and that life can get unexpectedly busy. Should you no longer be able to attend we require notice the day after your first session in order to receive a refund.

How can I find out about more Drop Thought Workshops?

The spring program will be released in February once space has been confirmed.
