    We’re excited to announce the return of Edwardian Teas on the veranda of Waverley Place! Explore the historic home, chat with friends, and relax with cup of tea and delicious refreshments!


    The menu includes mini quiche, Tea-themed sandwiches, scones, cream, jam, fruit, and mini desserts, catered by Chanterelle Bistro.

    Advanced registration and payment are required. Cost $61.50 + HST per person, with a minimum order of two people. Registration for Teas opens Wednesday, June 5, 9:45 a.m.

    Teas are being held on these dates:

    • Wednesday, Aug 31, 12:00 p.m.;
    • Wednesday, August 14, 12:00 p.m.; and
    • Wednesday, August 21, 12:00 p.m.

    Where are the Teas being held?

    The Teas take place at Waverley Place, 37 Silver St. The veranda is wheelchair accessible, however, washrooms are only available at the Sarah Jane Williams Heritage Centre at 62 Temperance St.

    Will we be able to access the historic home?

    Yes! All visitors are encouraged to tour Waverley Place before or after their tea times.

    What is the dress code?

    There is no dress code for this event. Please dress comfortably and according to weather conditions as you will be seated outside on the covered veranda for the Tea.

    What will be served?

    The Teas are being catered by Chanterelle Bistro. The menu includes mini quiche, Tea-themed sandwiches, scones, cream, jam, fruit, and mini desserts.

    Are gluten-free or vegetarian options available?

    Yes, gluten-free and vegetarian options are available. You may indicate your preference as part of the registration process. Gluten-free options is an extra $2 per person.

    What about other dietary restrictions or special menu requests?

    Due to the nature of the event and the fixed menu, we unfortunately cannot accommodate other dietary restrictions or special menu requests. For specific dietary concerns, please contact Chanterelle Bistro directly at chanterellebistro@gmail.com

    What if it rains?

    The Teas are being held on the veranda of Waverley Place, sheltered from the sun and inclement weather. In the event of inclement weather, the Teas will be going ahead.

    How do I register? How do I pay?

    You may register online, by phone, or in person. Credit, debit, and cash are accepted. If you wish to pay via cash, please visit any CPLMA location. NOTE: Tickets must be purchased in advanced as part of the registration process; walk-in's are not able to be accommodated.

    What is your refund policy?

    Refunds are permitted up to 7 days before the event, due to having to provide final numbers to the caterer with enough notice. Refunds within 7 days of the event may only permitted if your spot can be filled from the waitlist. Please contact us for more information.

    Can I book a large group?

    Yes! Please contact Museum staff directly at 905-623-2734 or email hello@cplma.ca to arrange for a large group (20-26 people). Limited spaces are available; please call early to avoid disappointment.
