  • Understand how dominant groups perpetuate, actively or unconcsciously, oppression.
  • Be able to apply key concepts related to anti-racism, oppression, privilege, and tokenism.
  • Understand how unconscious bias affects individuals and communities; and
  • Be able to identify microaggressions and apply appropriate and effective responses to microaggressions.

The Office of Diversity and Human Rights (DHR)  helps coordinate, evaluate, and report on the University's institutional equity and inclusion activities; and promotes the fundamental rights and responsibilities guaranteed by Ontario's Human Rights (Code)

We work with senior administrators, and other persons in positions of power, trust, and authority to identify and resolve questions, concerns, and complaints about individual courses of conduct, or the application of any University policy or procedure that may discriminate against persons protected by the Code.

We work to create a culture of equity & inclusion where everyone is encouraged and supported to participate.
