Bio
Eric Montpool is an independent singer/songwriter from Newmarket, Ontario. Known to many as the dynamic frontman of indie rock outfit Noise Hotel, Eric Montpool is showing a different, more vulnerable side of himself as a solo performer. Influenced as much by classic folkies Gordon Lightfoot & Joni Mitchell as he is by contemporary artists Fleet Foxes & MJ Lenderman, Eric’s music blends introspective lyrics with delicate acoustic melodies, drawing on themes of love, loss, & self-discovery. Since emerging as a solo artist in 2023 opening for Ottawa singer/songwriter & longtime collaborator hannah vig, Eric has showcased his compelling songwriting on stages in Ottawa, Toronto, Barrie & Beyond, & has opened for acclaimed acts like Jane’s Party. His debut solo single “End of an Era” hit streaming platforms in September of 2024, and since has amassed over 5000 streams. In the Fall of 2024, Eric embarked on a small acoustic tour of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) to support his inaugural solo effort.
Accolades
Since emerging as a solo artist Eric Montpool has performed in Toronto, Ottawa, Barrie & beyond. After a few solo dates in Ottawa (including opening for Jane’s Party) Eric embarked on a small tour of the GTA in Fall 2024 to support the release of his debut single End of an Era, which now boasts over 5000 streams.
