About this event

  • Event lasts 4 hours

The Toronto reggae community comes together to say farewell to 3030.
Reggaddiction along with special guests: Kirk Diamond, Trish Campbell, and Mirian Katrib celebrate the special energy of Toronto's 3030 Club which has been sold after a 15 year run as one of the city's best live venues.

The Toronto reggae community has been hit hard with the closure of live music venues and now the recent removal of the reggae category from the Juno's. The reggae community must continue its resilance, moving together as one. Let's all do what we can to support live reggae music in Canada. To help support live reggae music in Canada, Reggaddiction is offering to buy anyone a drink, if they attend two shows featuring Canadian reggae artists within a 30 day period. Email info@reggaddiction.com with photos of yourself at the two shows that you attended with the name of the shows, and we will etransfer you $10. These can be any shows, doesn't have to be a Reggaddiction show, any Canadian reggae artist main featured show. Any reggae artist that is born in Canada or any reggae artist that lives in Canada. Let's support the Canadian reggae community together".

REGGADDICTION

Hailing from Toronto, Ontario, the 10-piece reggae band Reggaddiction came together in 2019, channeling their passion for reggae music into a distinctive sound.

Reggaddiction’s live energetic performances are infused with the positive vibes of Ska and reggae culture. The band strives for a deep connection with their audience while showcasing their ability to create an atmosphere of unity and togetherness, embodying the theme of ONE LOVE.

For Reggaddiction’s debut 2023 album, titled “Ganja Harvest” the group embarked on a sonic adventure, that international radio labeled “A match made in Rasta Heaven” ~ 104.7FM (Australia). Songs from the album have also been featured on Canadian radio including CBC. In this reggae remix album, Reggaddiction has skillfully woven the threads of Neil Young’s timeless masterpiece, ‘Harvest,’ into the rich tapestry of reggae rhythms. Immersing the listener in the evolution of sound while transporting them to a realm where classic rock harmoniously dances with the laid-back grooves of reggae. From the iconic resonance of ‘Heart of Gold’ to the poetic allure of ‘Old Man,’ each track has been meticulously reimagined to create a seamless blend of familiarity and innovation. “Ganja Harvest” is more than an album; it’s a bridge between eras, a celebration of musical ingenuity, and a testament to the boundless possibilities of artistic collaboration.
