Feminist Therapy Theory in 4 parts

This online event is accessible, inclusive and experiential, leaving participants with a solid foundation to support clients recovering from trauma.

Discover how all ethical and effective therapy MUST be feminist. Counsellor, supervisor and feminist therapy educator Jennifer Hollinshead will guide you through engaging information on the hisory, evolution and current practices of feminist therapy. This event is open to all aspiring and practicing mental health clinicians, such as support workers, social workers, counsellors, psychologists, psychiatrists and medical administrators.

This comprehensive, engaging live course is designed to be accessible. Don't miss this opportunity to expand your knowledge and skills in feminist therapy theory.

NOTE: If it's not intersectional (addressing all forms of oppression in society such as class, ability, body size, education, etc) then it's not feminism.

Please see syllabus below. Pacing and breaks will be responsive to the group's needs - averaging ~5 mins per hour, plus a 30 minute lunch.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to be a licensed mental health pro to attend?

Ideally you have some training in mental health provision when attending this event. For example: You are a student in a mental health training program, you're completing a practicum, you're new to the field, mid career, or a crispy seasoned clinician looking for inspiration.

Does this qualify for Continuing Education Credits?

Most likely. We are waiting for approval for this and will let you know as soon as we hear from the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.

What are the benefits of applying a feminist lens to your psychotherapy work?

Clients, counsellors and clinical supervisors will all be challenging and moving away from harmful and oppressive systems like patriarchy, supremacy culture, colonisation and capitalism. We all feel more empowered, less harmed, and more hopeful that our actions can change the world.

Do I need to take all levels if I'm already a practicing feminist therapist?

Yes. We encourage all practitioners to complete levels 1-4 within a year. If you're already practicing feminist therapy, you will learn something new in each level.

Is there a sliding scale if I can't afford the price?

The price of $127.50+tax per day rounds out to be $18.21/hr, which is competitive for engaging live training. If you are struggling to attend because of the price, please email admin@peak-resilience.com and we can discuss discount options based on your situation.
