About this event

  • Event lasts 5 hours

In our modern times of converging environmental and related crisis, nature-based solutions and healing from the land are becoming more apparent to local communities and governments. Familiar and reciprocal relationships with the natural world and local places can help individuals and entire populations realize a more sustainable and healthy present and future.

In Nova Scotia, the Parks Prescription (PaRx) program enables physicians to prescribe nature time to patients. This is an essential evolution for our health care system, with more room for nature-based interventions and activities to come.

Hosts Save Our Old Forests and Soft Pine Wellness have come together to collaborate on supporting nature-based health and the growing benefits of protected forests and landscapes.

Workshop Details

During this workshop, we will explore various nature-based wellness practices and activities, including a guided Forest Bathing session lead by Wil Brunner of Soft Pine Wellness, a certified Forest Therapy Guide. This session will feature and pre and post health assessment to observe changes in our bodies such as blood pressure. We will also explore how nature plays a role in our individual lives through expression and discussion. The workshop will conclude by collaborating on how to further develop nature-based wellness and land conservation and share details of an upcoming retreat.

Please arrive for check-in at 9:45am.
